Pottr ("we", "our", "us") operates the Pottr mobile application. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and display name. If you sign up via Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those services.
Profile Information
You may optionally provide a bio, profile photo, website link, and social media links. This information is visible to other users based on your privacy settings.
Content
We store the content you create, including library entries (photos, claybody, firing cone, glazes, notes, tags), feed posts, comments, messages, and albums.
Usage Data
We collect search queries and filter usage to personalise your experience and improve the app. This data is stored for 30 days and then automatically deleted.
Device Information
We collect push notification tokens to send you notifications. We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes.
Date of Birth
We verify your age during sign-up to comply with Australian law. Your date of birth is used only for age verification and is not stored permanently.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and operate the Pottr service
- Display your profile and content to other users based on your privacy settings
- Personalise your explore and feed experience (premium feature)
- Send push notifications for likes, comments, follows, and messages
- Respond to support requests
- Enforce our Terms of Service and community guidelines
- Improve the app and fix bugs
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Your shared content is visible to other Pottr users according to your privacy settings. If your profile is private, only approved followers can see your content.
We use the following service providers who may process your data:
- Supabase — database hosting, authentication, and file storage (hosted on AWS)
- Apple / Google — in-app purchase processing and subscription management
- Expo — push notification delivery
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers operated by Supabase, which uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. Data may be stored outside of Australia.
We implement reasonable security measures including row-level security policies, authentication, and encrypted connections. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — view your profile, entries, and posts at any time
- Correct your data — edit your profile, entries, and posts
- Delete your data — delete individual entries or your entire account from Settings
- Control visibility — set your profile to private, control what is shared
6. Children's Privacy
Pottr is not intended for users under 16 years of age, in compliance with the Australian Online Safety Act. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that a user is under 16, we will terminate their account and delete their data.
7. Cookies and Tracking
The Pottr mobile app does not use cookies. We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising tracking.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of Pottr after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
